Introduction
Taking the case of class room performance by a student and comparing to how they will perform in their future job designations is a critical matter that concerns many Human Resource organization globally. It is critical to say that students who perform well in class are also going to be top performers at work based on the evidence provided by many research journals on human resource management. Employee effectiveness at work is a factor that is developed during early developmental stages while in school. Institutions of learning play a critical role in molding an individual to be a great employee and a performer at their designations. Businesses are adopting new hiring mechanisms that look into student performance back in school in order to develop a metric system that ensures all the employee’s given jobs are a top performance in their respective lines of work. ;The Association of Psychological Science asserts that class performance correlates with the work performance of an employee (Viollaz, 2014).
Engagement in Classroom Discussions and Engagement at Work
Looking into class activities that are undertaken by students on an everyday basis, the key things that come out is collaboration, participation, and responsiveness. Students in a class are result oriented; the academic environment encourages students to be focused on the final output. In many scenarios at academic institutions, students are always placed in groups that involve discussions and evaluation of an assignment. The students engage in research activities and multiple consultations before the final write up is produced. It is key to note that active participation and engagement leads to faster solutions. ;In the long run, the most active participants end up being the top performers in school.
Using the ideologies stated above, transforming the class room environment into a workplace environment. In every day transactions of business and service offering in many organizations, there is a need for collaborations, consultation and solution provision. In order to offer quality customer service, an employee has to be able to engage the right people, expedite on matters within the required timeframes and in the long run this leads to a result-oriented environment. Researchers are discovering the need for a result oriented individual who is able to multitask, consult and cooperate with other employees to provide solutions to customers. Educators, researchers, and many students have realized the need to develop a learning culture that incorporates cooperation, consultation and high levels of engagement. There is a need to rethink the class room in order to develop employees who are highly competent in the workplace and are always resourceful to their seniors and fellow employees. In order to create the most successful team of employees, there is a need for an organization to foster collaboration and engagement among employees as this mechanism is proven in a class room setting (Daniel, 2013).
The correlation between classroom performance and job performance all lie in the initial training received by a student while in school (Daniel, 2013). Students, in the long run, end up to be employees, managers and even founders of organizations. It is valid to say that instilling traits of collaboration and open engagement in individual at tender age results in an individual who can be relied upon by employers and can be a top performance in areas of their jurisdictions.
Completion of Assignments and Completion of Work Duties
The completion of assignments correlates to the handling of assignments at work. In many cases employees engage in tasks that have deadlines and submissions are critical to the offering of quality service to customers. In a classroom setting, students are expected to hand in their assignments within a designated time frame. It is critical to the teacher that all assignments are handed in within the required time lines. Students who lag behind in handing in their school assignments are likely to be lazy or generally uncooperative to the learning system. This group of individual are likely to engage in malpractices at work which relate to late submission of work. Untimely submission of work within the office setting leads to a halt in the chain of work. One department would suffer in the case that a given department is not able to give its expected deliverables within the required timeframe. It is important to understand that workplace laziness is detrimental to the performance of other employees. Top performing employees can be disadvantaged in the case that they are not kept up to speed by his/her employees who need to hand in reports, analyses and evaluations within the required time’s limits (“Staff Development Trends: Reverse Classroom Learning”, 2016).
Class assignments play a critical role in sharpening an individual to understand the need for urgency and delivering within the required timeframes. Assignments aid in teaching provision of quality work at the right time. The completion of work duties is equally the same as the completion of assignments. Educators who are strict about handing in of assignments help to develop an acute attitude in students and later on employees the need to provide quality submissions without disappointing.
