This is a course designed to expose participants in the MBA and Online MBA programs to essential theories and concepts for analyzing, understanding, and managing human behavior in organizations. In this course, concrete organizational situations from case studies are applied to essential theories and effective management practices. In this class, participants will learn how to thrive at work by managing their relationships. Not only will they investigate human factors that influence organizational performance, but also organizational factors that influence individual and group behavior. This promotes an understanding of the principles in each topic and is an important part of the learning process. It then applies that knowledge to make organizations work more effectively. We all hold generalizations about the behavior of people. Some of our generalizations may provide valid insights into human behavior, but many are erroneous. Organizational Behavior uses systematic study to improve predictions of behavior that would be made from intuition alone. But, because people are different, we need to look at B in a contingency framework, using situational variables to moderate cause-effect relationships.

This course is designed to give participants an understanding of attitudes and behavior of individuals and groups in all types of organizations and as to how organizations, simple or complex, are structured and patterned to achieve their goals.
